Bush Impeachment Watch, Chapter I
So what's your bet on when the House of Representatives will pass Articles of Impeachment ? My bet is that articles will reach the floor between 15 April and 15 June. Watch, it's gonna happen. The loonies owe their backers.

i have lost track of that vanity fair val & joe plame(not a typo) lawsuit. wonder how that's coming along...........
as a follow-up.......... my constitutional law is somewhat, well, .............. if the loonies do get their way, won't that put cheney in the oval office?
I don't believe impeachment will actually happen...in terms of Bush being drven from office. I think it will be a re-run of the situation with Bill Clinton. The object of the exercise is to gratify the desires of the far-left constituency that, if it can't reenact the Bolshevik storming of the Winter Palace, or have Bush frog-marched off the premises, as Valerie Plame put it -- will settle for humiliation.
There are also practical reasons: (1) to try to discredit Republicans for 2008; (2) to keep Bush on the defensive so as to give themselves a free hand; (3) payback for Bill Clinton; (4) to fire enthuasiam for Democrats -- lefty Democrats -- among financial contributors; (5) as a morale-building exercise for the left: to reestablish belief in the old/new coalition of Demo bosses, traditional media, academia and NGO-peacenik types; and, (6) -- to hurt the morale and political prospects of their enemies.
