Lebanon Update

At last, the politicians in Israel seem to have pulled their thumbs out of it, and have adopted a workable plan for dealing with Hezbollah. The IDF seems to be at last on the way to the Litani River in force, much as I suggested they should be back in the middle of July. Time is growing short, politically, however. Over in Iraq, Grand Ayatollah Sistani is getting nervous, and this is very bad from the point of view of the US being able to maintain support for Israel's effort. Although our interests and Israel's, for the most part, coincide, they are not, completely, identical. . .
