It's the Demos Move

If the Democrats have any brains whatever, they'll immediately pass the next most left-wing alternative bail-out bill they have, without Republican help. They'll likely own Washington for the next 10 years if they do so.

Can't agree more El Jeffe.

Apparently the words "Smoot-Hawley Tarrif Act" don't ring any bells, at least not in Congressman Culbertson's office. I called to tell him I'll be voting for a Democrat for the first time in my life this November.

How the GOP expects to win on the "We broke the Economy and drove the dow down 700 points" is beyond me...it didn't work in 32 and it won't work now.

El Jefe

More likely 20 years.

The only thing more dangerous than Ike is the House of (non)Representatives.

That not passing the bill was a disaster was basic High School Economics back when I was there. Not the college prep course the basic consumer econ course for dummies.

But then peoples parents told them first hand about depression, wonder if it gets a note these days beyond hail to Roosevelt.

Well anonymous, Bill and Hillary were the ones that provided us the sub-prime mortgages so that all of those that had not saved enough for a down payment and have other issues - probably credit card debt that would prevent them form getting a loan or whatever were given laons on homes they could not afford. Also in 1999, the repubs proposed bills and indicated that this would result in the destruction of fannie and gennie, but were overrriden by dems as they wanted to get re-elected by giving everyone that could'nt afford it a house (aka a gross exaggeration of chicken in pot) Also the execs that got fired at fannie gennie are now pupportedly working for the big O.

So, go ahead and vote for the big O and we'll just go ahead and classify you with the chikens voting for Colonel Sanders (credit to el Jefe himself)
