Trip to the Country

Back from an overnight trip to the country place last night (just the Jefe). All the wildflowers are out, and our little place even has some Bluebonnets, an Indian Paintbrush or three, and scads of dandelions.
Mid-spring is some of the best weather Texas has to offer, and this morning turned out to be very pleasant, although a few clouds showed up during the course of my morning to keep the sunshine honest. All the animals were being noisy. Looked around for some of our local reptiles, but didn't see any -- which perhaps is best for all concerned.
Enjoyed a passable merlot with my dinner last night, and listened to some Sir Edward Elgar; including his Symphony No. 2 (the fourth movement Moderato e maestoso is among my favorite pieces of music, period). Read my books and fooled with my papers; and watched an old movie. Turned out to be a nice evening, even though I forgot the laptop.

has EJM I noticed that when he posts an eloquent commentary on a particular subject, LL stays away?
thought so.
LL has just returned from the state capitol, traveling the 100+ miles to the southwest to watch the soon not to be oklahoma city hornets down your rockets.
yao is not that tall.........
from twenty something rows back....
until you realize that his overhead jump shot has no arch.....
until you realize that his rebound and put back only requires he extend his tippy-toes.......
tracy mcgrady is very good.
why do i bring this up?
as i sometimes need EJM I help with the direction the sun rises and other such matters, at the beginning of every home game, they give the mic[sic] to a different player (mistake) to let him say a few words to those in attendance about thanking them for lining the pocket of mr. shin, er, ah, making the hornets feel welcome. hilton armstrong addressed the crowd prior to tipoff thusly, posing this question: you know how you don't miss a good feeling until it's gone?
i'm sure there is some wisdom in there. i'm just sure of it. if not, he wouldn't have said it out loud. either that or they need to stop the WWE crossover at hornets OKC games. when he had finished his commentary (generous description) he raised his hands over his head and dropped the mic[sic] to the floor. i suppose this too means something......that escapes myself.
i just had to share this with EJM I.
EJM I wakes up and replies, NO YOU DID NOT!!!!!!!!!

SWMBO's former employer, for some kind of campaign at work, circulated round a single Yao Ming-sized tennis shoe, and she brought it home one night so that the very sports-minded Heir could see it. It was a real shoe (can't remember the manufacturer).

It was absolutely gianormous, I'm certain it was as long as the computer monitor I'm using at present and a third as tall.

Raising his arms up and dropping the Mike to the floor. Maybe it's some kind of Manchurian Candidate kind of signal. . .

You might be right about forgetting the laptop. Once I got over the Internet Withdrawal DT's, I had a nice evening.
